But the point is that no one lives there, so its consumption of US goods is going to be tiny, even if everyone is driving around in a Chevvy. It's almost guaranteed to be running a trade surplus with the USA. So the blunt instrument spreadsheet methodology is once again shown to be lazy spite.

A Falkland Trade guy was on the radio (five live) around six PM today.

He mentioned two main exports:
* Squid - mainly to Europe.
* Toothfish - a fair proportion to the USA.

Havign never heard of Toothfish I investigated.

Doesn't surprise me. I used to hear the word 'tallow' used in the context of candles.

But will Americans be weaned off corn syrup, which they seem to drench some foods in?

When I was a child, my mother used to eat drippin' which she slathered on very toasted toast. We wished her dead.

I remember my neighbours doing that. Mercifully, we didn't.
