I dare say he probably will win his pantomime by-election, but that obviously will not leave him totally vindicated, as he imagines. In fact if he only just scrapes past Binface he will be damaged goods. And the paused investigation by the parliamentary commissioner will resume, he'll face suspension and a recall petition, and then a real by-election, which he could lose - probably to the Tories.
