If Starmer is found to have broken laws and resigns, that isn't necessarily so bad. A mea culpa, step down, quick leadership election, and do it with dignity. All the greater contrast with you know who.

Be surprised if things come to that though.

Hope you're right; if Durham issue an FPN will there be a chorus for them to re-examine the "eye test by driving" of Cummings?

At least he's honest about it.

The problem is the negative press they generate whilst they protest that there's a stitch up* to prevent a real socialist candidate standing.

If this is it then I don’t think they issue a fine or anything. Sky and the Mail think it’s a gotcha but this is the leaders plan as part of a work day.

In fact it looked far worse before they posted this, now I’ve seen this I’m very relaxed as it is what Labour have said all along.

Some of the media in this country should consider what happened on January the 6th 2021 in America and be a bit more wary of crap like that.

Yeah, I think this is fine. All it says is that they fed the people who'd been working and put that on a schedule. That's not people being gathered together for a curry. Even if they didn't do any work afterwards, which is what Starmer said. The idea that there'd be nobody working during nationwide elections (it wasn't just Hartlepool).

Having said that, I think Johnson birthday thing, if reported correctly, ought not to have led to a fine for him and Sunak. Sky asked pointed out to Starmer yesterday that Johnson had stopped working, had some cake then carried on working. I think the people who were in the vicinity for work might have reasonably been excused that.

Unfortunately, there's still the presence of "AR" to seize upon, along with nit-picking over "but was this a social event or a work event?"

"Ambushed by poppadoms."

Sunday Times say they have a witness who said it was basically a piss up, and nobody went back to work. It is though caveated with a "to my knowledge".

It's getting ridiculous. The Tory/Jezzerati alliance are now saying he didn't work after eating so he MUST be guilty.

Remember when The Cult used to accuse anyone who didn't bow low enough in front of the Beloved Leader of working with the Tories?

It's no longer a party worth voting for with shit like this going on.

Dissolve it and let the disadvantaged fend for themselves whilst you argue amongst yourselves over ideology, because that's more important, right?

I wouldn't take that too seriously. Unnamed Tory source, very easy to drop that in and get us all going.

It's funny how this witness has centred on Mary Foy. Why do that, if Starmer is banged to rights? It looks like a small room Starmer is in. One guy is eating standing up. That looks more like people having dinner than having a dinner.

Great work here by Dan. Though of course Johnson's wine and cheese seems to have had less social distancing.

Was that the one Johnson took his wife to? When it stipulated no gatherings should take place?

The more I see of this evidence the more I feel Durham were pushed into this statement by the leak from the Telegraph which in itself is a concern no one has raised

Indeed, and the mob still believe the media is against them.
