This could also have gone in the Tories thread. It shows how much the unspeakable scum are prepared to suck up to the upper-class scrounger's.

King Charles III’s public rejection of a pay rise potentially worth as much as £250m a year in extra taxpayer money has laid bare the extraordinarily generous funding arrangement introduced by the former prime minister David Cameron.

The sovereign grant deal, ushered in by Cameron and his chancellor, George Osborne, in 2011, has already resulted in a sharp rise in public money going to the monarchy over the last decade.

In the first financial year of the deal – 2012-13 – the budget to fund the monarchy was set at £31m. Last year, the monarch received £86.3m, including a substantial amount to refurbish Buckingham Palace. According to the terms of the sovereign grant prescribed in legislation, Charles would potentially be in line for future payments in excess of £330m a year.

Against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis, the new king has signalled he will forgo some of the cash windfall so it can be spent on the “wider public good”.
That's good of him. He'll still trouser in one year more money than most of us will see in a whole lifetime.

Easy to look “noble” on the right hand, because you don’t know what the left’s doing!

The Sky News Twitter feed is all of a froth over the coronation at the moment. Any old bollocks, it seems...

I cannot believe that Chuckles is trousering so much extra money and has the gall to complain to Harry that he can't afford to support him. Leaving that aside--while British children go hungry. For shame.

Harry suggested to the firm that he wanted to be a normal European royal by being taken off the civil list, paying his way but doing his bit with the family on important state occasions. For that his brother and father hit the roof and his path to ostracisation began.

According to the Sunday Times Charles is going to act as a caretaker king while Prince William is King in all but name. Both Charles and William come across as workshy wastrels who like the idea of being king but don't like the workload that being King entails.

Prince Peggy's taking a lot of flak for not showing up for the footie, I could see the demand for a Republic getting pretty loud by the time Charles turns up his toes in 20 odd years.

As per usual, I was woken early this morning by the breadwinner - six-ay-fucking-em - and dutifully put on the wireless.

A bit of Africa news, some farmers, some fisherfolk - not all catastrophic and nothing to cause unbridled myrth.

And then news that Chuck-Trois was flying from Versailles to the (not very) south-west city of Bordeaux. Flying, fucking flying to the French geographical equivalent of Chester from a similarly Gallic Durham?

Is he now taking the piss rather than the internationally-lauded new railway service in probably half the time and without the need to change at Doncasteur?

Off with his head!

What point are they making; they’re from a different country or another hereditary candidate is their king like the descendant of Bonnie Prince Charlie or Harold Godwinson?

Why does our future king look so uncomfortable when in the company of people of colour?

No. He doesn't look uncomfortable. He's fine in his entitlement. To us, however, he looks fucking incongruous. Weirdly incongruous.

No, he seems neither uncomfortable nor incongruous to me.
