All this hat-talk is unsettling me, rather. Bollocks to last week's news.

Since the iced drizzle beat the retreat, my furry titfa has been retired for another year and I have been wearing my heavy Homburg, these last few days. My hair had been chopped back and it feels better.

My broad-brimmed Sevilla is very Jewy and usually makes its appearance at around Easter time, and it keeps the melanomic beast at bay while the weather eases us back to the good times. My Panamas and my Luton-made boater are just waiting to be wiped down for another year's excursions. When the temperatures top out at over 35°, I wear a linen skip cap, à la desert rat. In fact, when up-country in Egypt, I rather enjoyed a Mujahedeen-inspired, hand-made indigo wrap to counter the fierce sun - I have this negative shake against skin cancer and hate picking scabs off my pate.

All in all, I like hats and wearing that fine millinery at a jaunty angle. It's where I came of age. I am too old to change, and skin cancer killed my mother.

Friend,

George Galloway is now Rochdale's MP.

George Galloway called for the deaths of British soldiers.

George Galloway declared Bradford an 'Israel-free zone'.

George Galloway has repeatedly blamed the Ukrainians for Russia's brutal and unprovoked invasion.

Rochdale doesn't deserve this man.

The blame for his victory lies at the door of Keir Starmer.

Keir Starmer's failure to fix antisemitism within his party paved the way for Galloway's toxic brand of politics to return.

Friend, the lesson from this is quite clear. If Keir Starmer can't tackle racist antisemitism in his own party, he isn't fit to lead our country.
So Starmer is to blame for Galloway being elected even though Starmer withdrew support for the party's candidate because of antisemitism.
For fuck's sake. That's absolutely shameless. Any word on why the Tories went down from 31 to 12 in a strongly Brexit supporting area, when they hold the seat next door?

I wear a Stetson for walking in the low winter Sun but sometimes aware I might be seen as ‘a character’ who tells it like it is. But without red trousers.

Please tell me you take the fucking hat off when you go indoors.

Anyone remember a skit on the Friday Night Armistice (90s political comedy thing by Armando Iannucci) about a minster (Douglas Hogg?) who always wore a hat, and showed some faked CCTV footage of him taking the hat off and deflating?

Restaurants and (operation) theatres, mainly. Pubs, seldom.

Saw a clip of Galloway swearing the oath at the despatch box earlier on. Amazingly, he’d shown a modicum of respect by losing his ridiculous hat. And you could plainly see why this narcissist twat clings to his idiot’s headgear. He’s as bald as a fucking billiard ball.

Galloway's Goons contested the Lewisham Mayor By-Election. I thought they might be competitive, but Labour won on the first round. Galloway's candidate came fourth.

Vote held up well considering how popular Egan was.

In typical loony left fashion, the fuckwit factions cannot work together

George Galloway's hopes of recruiting Jeremy Corbyn to his party have been dashed after sources close to the former Labour leader dismissed the idea he would join forces with the newly-elected MP for Rochdale.

Following his controversial victory in the Rochdale by-election, Mr Galloway appealed to Mr Corbyn to "launch and lead" a new alliance of socialists and questioned why he had "procrastinated for so long" about his political future.

But sources close to Mr Corbyn - who remains suspended from the parliamentary Labour Party - have told Sky News Mr Galloway and Mr Corbyn working together was "never going to happen"...

I suppose the Corbynites told Georgie to fuck off and join the tories.

Galloway has more in common with Orban than Corbyn. I’d take Jezza over George any day of the week.
He was invited to join the Tories at closing time Party. Fair dos, this is an impressive swipe from Galloway.

Considering who they ended up picking I’m not surprised.

My mistake. Galloway's Goons came 5th in Lewisham, with less than half the Lib Dem score. And barely a third of the Greens.

I would too. For some reason, I got sucked into commenting on youtube, and a few people seem to be expecting Jez and Galloway to join up. Jez would be mad to do that, and won't.

Galloway did suggest it, Corbyn rejected it.

Galloway is far, far worse than St Jezz. For all his faults I don't think Corbyn is particularly nasty. He's woefully naive and will support the 'oppressed' unconditionally but I don't think he has any malicious intent. I don't think he's overly anti-semitic, although he has a problem with choosing his friends, and he would rather help an individual Jew than harm them. Galloway, on the other hand, is a horrible piece of work who would happily have someone else commit murder to get his own way.
