As Lincoln almost said, you can fool all of the people some of the time, but nobody but a fool fucks with the IRS.

True there’ll always be suckers, but I’m most interested in the absolute most important thing - him not having enough money to mount a successful re-election campaign, and the GOP being so drained of funds their other candidates also struggle.

A Trump defeat is an obvious win. A second Biden term with control of Congress and the Senate could be absolutely huge for the whole world.

Some good news for a change

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... test-polls
Joe Biden had some good news on Tuesday as polling showed him gaining on Donald Trump in six battleground states, seven months before the presidential election. In response, one leading Democratic strategist said the “Biden bump is real”.

According to Bloomberg News and Morning Consult, Biden now leads Trump by a point in Wisconsin, having trailed by four last month, and is tied in Pennsylvania, where Trump had a six-point lead last month. The two candidates were also tied in Michigan.

In other states likely to decide the presidential election in November, Trump was ahead in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina. Only Georgia, however, showed an increased lead for the presumptive Republican nominee.

Meanwhile Trump has a new side hustle as a Bible salesman.
Trump Sells $59.99 Bible That Isn’t Even Gold

Many people find the idea of any presidential candidate selling religious texts to their supporters totally appalling. And the Donald Trump of it all makes matters even worse. The former president famously named the Bible as his favorite book on the 2016 campaign trail, but was unable to name his favorite verse. During his administration he cited “Two Corinthians” (not Second Corinthians) and had peaceful protesters forcibly removed from a park near the White House so he could stand in front of a church and brandish a Bible. Plus, Trump is hawking the Good Book as he finds himself in huge financial trouble due to his multiple criminal trials, one of which involves hush-money payments to a porn star. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article ... nwood.html

2nd Corinthians is rather fitting, so at least one person in his entourage had some fun. It's a self-pitying whinge by St Paul, who complains about being mocked by the oh so clever liberal intelligentsia Greeks for his style of speech and writing, followed by a plea for the church in Corinth to raise more money for Paul's branch in Jerusalem.

Imagine a young Christian Armanpour turning into Neil Oliver and it’s not even sad enough to describe the road to insanity of Lara Logan. Once a serious rising correspondent for CBS, she’s now trying to convince a sceptical Steve Bannon of her Baltimore bridge cyber attack conspiracy.

Out in the wild the other day I saw an American blaming Biden's America, stating it was symptomatic of the crap infrastructure the Libs are forcing America to accept. He wasn't happy with the people pointing out that it has nothing to do with the present president, and might have something to do with being hit by a ship.

Americans are fucking mental. And some are more mental than others.

They have lost the last screws form their hinges in the past four years.

A sad example of what can happen when all the media are partisan, partisans run all elections, and politicians have final say over judiciary.

Things are so far gone that a mainstream movie leans into the militia's wanksock fantasies.

Said bridge was also built in the 1970s, when there was no such thing as a ship that size.

The Baltimore bridge collision is a tragic cock up. America has many lift bridges like this one in Duluth to accommodate tall ships.

Blimey, Christ was a tall lad, wasn't he? I had no idea.

Mind you, we normally see him on a cross so that must be a "perspectives" thing. Not unlike a celebrated Father Ted scene.

I think it’s getting into the ‘people are thinking about stuff’ phase, the media seems to be shifting from “isn’t Biden old?” to “Is Trump showing dementia signs?” plus the GOP/Trump run on abortion really seems to be cutting through now.

I can’t see the direction of travel shifting. The GOP are just getting more and more polarised, and more and more tied directly to Trump. I can even see a scenario where they suddenly collapse from Trump siphoning off all their funds.

I think the main reason Trump lost the last election was because a lot of female voters turned away from him. His new stance on abortion is a sign that his campaign team realise that he needs to do more to win back female voters. Hopeful most women will see his new position as extremely cynical. When he was President he ensure that the Supreme Court was packed with judges who were anti-abortion.
