Jimmy Savile was a "distinguished philanthropist".

That praise won't butter many parsnips.

Sorry for the pop culture reference, but that episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where they get Charlie on a blind date springs to mind*.

*In which the dimwit confused philanthropist with full on rapist.

Both need to end up being properly investigated when Labour get in.

This sounds borderline criminal to be honest and seeing Gove and Houchen go to prison would be lovely.

Peter Oborne’s take on how Gove has been at the centre of this web of shit for the past two decades.

Seems like every Gove project includes significant transfer of public assets.

Yes, Oborne is missing the main target of Gove’s patrons which isn’t NeoCon global hegemony (of course they want that). Buying up what remains of Britain’s assets in a fire sale is.

This might not be an election winning card.

Oh this is wonderful. Now Gove has thrown in the towel.

Methinks he knows that after the election blow out, the lunatics are taking over the asylum that is the Tory party and given he might be seen as being to the "left"or some small semblance of reason of what remains of it, Gove's decided to GTFO now rather than becoming an inevitable "enemy of the people".

I just wish he was properly chucked out by the electorate, though. Maybe he realises that his dream of being PM is not going to come to fruition any time in the foreseeable future.

I, for one, had to buy extra man-size Kleenex for the coming (fnarr) "celebrations".

Ruth Davidson on Beth Rigby’s podcast noted Gove is an intense historian of British politics and the last person to evoke the SAS slogan was Portillo.

Good old SAS again.

But in Sunak, Gove and Davidson what do we see.

A couple of dorks who wouldn't pass the physical to join the catering Corps, and a tubby lass who medically retired from the territorial signals after a few months.

Will Gove’s real boss want that lucrative publishing advance returned for books he never wrote?
