Cutback on takeaway coffee.

Though not having kids will save you a lot of money. Of course they can have kids but they can’t live to their current standards.

They will still be living to a good level of living though.

I've watched these type of stories in the Telegraph for a year now.

I predict 2026 will be a bumper year for makers of tiny violins.

I don't like to chuck the word about, but this is what used to be called treachery.

Or a job application, as it probably also is. Stanley could do a job for some MAGA people in the States, like Douglas Carswell. Perhaps he'd do better than Mississippi. Any crank think tanks in Arkansas recruiting?

Here it comes

‘I was going to vote for Burnham. Now I’ll back Reform’

The Telegraph asks Gorton and Denton constituents who they want as their next MP. It’s not good news for Starmer

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/20 ... n-burnham/
We're so lefty we really believe Burnham would be a great MP and a great PM. We've been denied the opportunity to vote for Burnham so we're considering voting fash instead.

Please, someone, make it make sense.

There are always "eccentrics" like this. Labour losing votes to the Greens might be a more significant problem. There's also a substantial Galloway vote. Does that get less cut through, seeing that Labour's recognized Palestine?

"Not even the lefties like him". Labour chaos. "Say what you like about the far left, at least they stand for something". Take your pick.

The state of the Torygraph

Starmer was asked twice if he's going to campaign in Gorton. He gave a 'we'll see' sort of answer.

Starmer ‘gives up on Gorton and Denton by-election’

Sir Keir Starmer appears to have abandoned his party’s efforts in the Gorton and Denton by-election by declining to say if he would take part in Labour’s campaign.

The Prime Minister said “we’ll put out the plan” when pressed twice by journalists travelling with him in Japan on whether he would visit the constituency and canvas for votes...

Keir can still go there and make a serious international statesman speech and remind people of Reform's dodgy Moscow links and the Greens laughable fiasco of a foreign policy. He doesn't have to press flesh in the high street.

When was that?
Must have been before my English teacher was recommending it for its prurient reporting of (especially divorce) court cases fifty years ago.

40 years ago you could read it for the news, and just ignore the editorials and opinion pieces. It hasn't always been an absolute shiterag like the Fail and Excess. They used to indulge in proper journalism.
