There was a leaflet on the doormat earlier encouraging me to join Reform, with the grinning countenance of the FFC upon it.

Sadly, I found it after I'd been for a shit, but it was on shiny paper anyway.

Reform have been pushing their manifesto from the 2024 election as part of the by-election campaign in Denton but the pledges are full of holes. One of the pledges is to cut Net Zero spending by £30bn but there doesn't seem to be any timescale on this pledge.
Many of the contracts the government and the energy companies have signed up to on Net Zero typically run for around 30 years so what will Reform do about these contracts? There are lots of schools that were built under PFI deals under Blair and because of the nature of the contracts the schools are still faced with large bills every year because scrapping the deals would be very difficult or extremely expensive.
