I seem to remember that in 2022, government ethics advisors were in the news quite a lot. Don't recall a Darren Tierney.

She was considered before, a year ago. Does James Ball think they may have not done some of the work then?

This is like the “Starmer Out” campaign. The media now have an incentive to get Romeo out.

I'm told ITV are far from being the worst offender, but what's the premise of this question? That saving money is bad?

Of course, it nicely sets up another part of the media- "Labour bastards cuts".

And if they hadn't done anything, another part of the media would be doing the "where are the reforms? this is just throwing money about"

Of course, these points in themselves aren't unreasonable. It's just the hysteria with which each point is put forward.

I suppose the NASUWT would be happy to have a Reform government setting aside no money whatsoever for "crips", "spazzers" and "kids who can't be bothered to behave themselves".

An extra 5 billion is a hell of a lot more than RacistUK or the Tories would find for SEN kids.

The NASUWT are led by the former FBU leader, Matt Wrack, a very strong supporter of Corbyn. You think he'd be saying the same if Corbyn had raised the budget by this amount?

Here's another typically balanced headline from you know where.
Fewer children in England to get EHCPs by 2035 under Send overhaul
New special educational needs regime to result in far fewer children being given education, health and care plans
https://www.theguardian.com/education/2 ... d-overhaul

The article, to be fair, explains why very quickly. There will be a new category that deals with the simpler support cases. But they know very well that the headlines get shared. Labour Austerity! Job done,
