The particular trope it embodies is "Arsehole redeems themselves by not being a total arsehole to one person".

It's a bit like filming yourself giving a coin to a beggar.

Something like this would infuriate the "autism is made up" brigade then:

A heritage railway centre has held an event to mark World Autism Awareness Day - offering families the chance to enjoy a quiet and safe day out.

Nene Valley Railway (NVR), near Peterborough, welcomed visitors on Thursday from across the UK as part of the event, which aimed to support people with visible and hidden disabilities.

Families were able to travel on the Thomas stream [sic] train, which ran between Wansford and Yarwell in Cambridgeshire, as well as a range of other activities.
I think the NVR has Autism Awareness events at other times of the year too.

Maybe you should have taken a weekend break in Clacton instead of spending your Brexit Pounds with the Frogs.
Despite our Brexit freedoms, which should have instilled a new spirit of self-determination and pride

Dickie did some research this week, managing to find some Daily Mail output from WW2 that wasn't "problematic". When it comes to accusing others of picking the wrong side, I wouldn't go to the Mail archives.

School breakfast clubs. Cue shitty nostalgia, sexism, clichés about poor families, jumpers for goalposts, kids eh?, mental health, plugs for one of his books, and consternation at the idea of children - children! - eating Spaghetti and burritos. Ugh! That's dirty rancid Dago grub!

So yes, standard Tuesday cuntery.

I wonder if a tabloid hack with 50 years experience any ideas as to who's responsible for this irrational Project Fear society?
We walked or cycled to school, we weren’t ferried there in SUVs because our parents had been terrified into believing there were nonces round every corner.

The biggest problem with cycling to school was having bits nicked off your bike in the bike sheds, unless you could leave it at a nearby mate's house.

"Nonces round every corner" you say................whereas I'm sure your parents creamed themselves when Savile or Andrew Somebody visited your school
