Was there an alliance? I thought they just called themselves Socialists and then arrested the Socialists.

Not as such, but the German Communist Party attacked the Social Democrats far more than they did the Nazis, and that did not end well.

They did.
I was actually thinking of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, and yes, I'm fully aware that was a non-aggression treaty which is not the same as an alliance, nevertheless it still exemplifies the sheer folly of thinking anything good can come from helping Nazis.

The thickest MP in parliament (Zarah Sultana) has just called Keir Starmer “a barefaced liar”.

Lindsay Hoyle wasted no time in naming her and having her chucked out the chamber.

A transparently pathetic stunt from an idiotic politician.

She also said "we all know" that "Mandelson got the PM his job".

This is kids stuff. You might think that Mandelson had influence that helped Starmer or whatever, but, you know, he was a well-regarded Euro Commissioner and ex-Deputy Prime Minister under Gordon Brown, and someone (whatever his personal greed) did have some credibility with business and investors. So he'd have some clout, but the idea he could fix the leadership or general election would seem a bit unlikely.

In other news, and in a perfect illustration of the horseshoe nature of both extreme left and extreme right politics, the moronic Lee Anderson has copied Sultana, and been dealt the same fate as her by Speaker Hoyle.

It’s odd because I remember Mandelson saying several times in the lead up to the last election suggesting that Labour cut “the green crap”.

30p Lee has cynically fed the rags' headlines for tomorrow. He's done his job.

What was Sultana's - and I couldn't resist it - raisin d'être?
