Yeah I read the full article on the BBC and the gene sent alarm bells, they've already done this in the past and its led to issues.

Considering its one time test will also I expect lead to plenty of cases going to CAS.

Grim news.

A transgender prisoner serving a sentence for murder has been charged with the sexual assault of a fellow inmate at a women's prison.
Alexandra Stewart, previously known as Alan Baker, allegedly attacked the woman at HMP Greenock.
Stewart - a biological male who identifies as a woman – was jailed for the murder of John Weir in 2013 and has been held in a women's unit in the prison since 2016.

Chasing up the original murder report, it makes clear that Baker-Stewart was undergoing a sex change at the time of the murder. So I assume that they no longer have mail genitalia, so wouldn't be banned from a women's prison in England. The case will doubtless be represented as "he put on a dress, and went straight in", but it probably isn't like that. But horrible, and I wonder if there needs to be a general position against trans women with convictions for violence being housed with what will mostly be physically weaker women.

Sharon Davies and her fellow bigots now seem to have got Parkrun in their sights because they think that Parkrun has not complied with the Supreme Court ruling. Parkrun is a free event with over 400,000 people registered with the organisation which relies on thousands of volunteers to function.
There is no way that Parkrun could possibly vet everybody who signs up to participate in events and they certainly couldn't get volunteers to police whether somebody has registered in the wrong gender category.

In 2022 the French government intervened in Parkrun by insisting that every participant should have a certificate from a doctor stating they were fit enough to take part. Parkrun in France said that this was impractical and subsequently there have been no Parkruns in France for 4 years. This is such an own goal for the French government because the event encourages people to improve their health and fitness as well as attracting tourists from all around the world.

People generally run their best, but have varying degrees of fitness and ability, and may or may not be particularly exercised by where they finish. And all this extra work has to be done in case a trans woman sneaks in, because the finishing positions are "false"?

Hopefully the court laughs this out of town.

The issue is that Sharron bloody Davies, the self-appointed patron saint of sporting integrity, will never be satisfied until every trans woman is forced to stay at home or be ostracised by society, just in case they in some way get one over on a 'proper' woman.
