Depending on your definition of "pretty soon", I'd say Charles was broadly correct, Diana's memory was certainly all but erased once the tabloids had Kate Middleton to leer over instead.
Also, given that King Charles is alleged to have made this comment 29 years ago, why is Charles Spencer only telling us about it now?
