Amateur hour. I can't decide if this is contempt for the public or just incompetence. "Angela has been promoted. No I don't know where to but she's been promoted."

Some very good results for Labour down in Worthing, too.

Lots of the Shadow Cabinet is a promotion on Chairman, I suppose.

But need to do any of this while Sadiq was still on stage.

Sounds like Anneliese Dodds is moving, though still in the Shadow Cabinet. She did some good work, beating Sunak to punches. But she wasn't particularly effective on the budget though- even if LOTO makes the speech in response. Ought to have been easy enough to make the "no new taxes till the economy has recovered properly" ought to have been an easy enough position from the word go. Talking of the budget, how depressing was it to see people fall for "the Tories are to the left of Labour" because they briefed out something about corporation tax rises? Sunak actually cut business taxes in the shorter term. Who knows if the rises will even happen?

I hope Starmer isn't expecting another Shadow Chancellor to make more of an impact. Lots of people didn't know who Philip Hammond when he was the actual Chancellor.

Hard to argue that's not a promotion for Rayner. Would have put her at Communities, but not a bad call.

Fair play to Dodds for taking one for the team. But would have kept Reeves where she was.

I wonder why Nick Brown lost his job? I always got the impression he was pretty good overall.

Good job for Streeting. Seems to be a bit of a bete noire for some, but he does get his head down on policy stuff and smart.

I believe he was. He said it was a 'mutual decision' - as he's been there so long. The chance to bring in new faces.

Annelise Dodds - some think she was in post as a gesture to McDonnell (she was on his team) and this may reflect his waning influence.

Keir Starmer sacked his shadow chancellor on Sunday night and promoted his close ally Rachel Reeves to the role, moving Anneliese Dodds to the back office role of party chair, in a move set to further inflame tensions with the party’s left.
The left were saying Dodds was to the right of Sunak 5 minutes ago,
