Here's a surprise: On the appointment of Sue Gray, wingnut Tories agree with Squealer :grinning:
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/o ... e9fd&ei=15
And it has even attracted criticism from left-wing activist Mr Jones who took to Twitter today to blast Ms Gray's new Labour role.

He said: "Labour's appointment of Sue Gray meets the 'would you think this is bad if the Tories did it' test, and anyone claiming otherwise isn't being honest with themselves."
Squealer has no fucking clue, has he? Starmer knows *precisely* what he is doing with this appointment : one, it is a genuinely excellent appointment, echoing Blair’s appointment of Jonathan Powell as his chief of staff back in 97. Two, he will positively welcome the controversy this is stirring up amongst the Tories, and will have anticipated it. Reminding voters of the sordid details of the “Partygate” scandal at the very point Johnson and the Tories want it to be swept under the carpet quietly if at all possible, suits Labour’s purposes just fine. Three, the “concerns” of the likes of Rees-Mogg and Dorries simply do not stand up. Sue Gray was appointed by Johnson himself specifically as an independent option beyond reproach, but only after his first appointee, Simon Case, had to recuse himself as he’d attended some of the parties himself. Gray’s work merely documented evidence already either in the public domain or also known to the Met. Fourth, if Gray’s appointment is blocked, you can be fairly certain Starmer has an equally fine alternative option already in mind. All in all, a quite brilliant move by Starmer.

“The voters outside looked from ERG to Trot, and from Trot to ERG, and from ERG to Trot again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

Apologies to Orwell (what I have actually read).

Squealer’s been quiet lately. Here he is though, with nothing new to say.

In summary, He still hates Starmer. He hates the “Blairites”. The sole reason Labour will win the election is because the Tories are shite. WAAHHH !

After the reshuffle, Blairites dominate Starmer’s shadow cabinet. That’s bad news for the rest of us

When Jonesy says "that's bad news for the rest of us", is he referring to his ultra-thick swivel-eyed Corbynite chums? Are they finally waking up to the fact that even a 'broad church' has to draw the line somewhere?

Jones's schtick is being the sort of well scrubbed and well spoken Trot you'd feel comfortable taking home to mother. He won't be much in demand if a competent Labour government are in power.

In the corner sulking and saying he didn't want to be in your gang anyway.

This is the thing. If I was on the anti-woke right, my line would be "credible allegations against a man who the liberal left took to their hearts".

Wouldn't blame Jones too much for that judgement. He writes a column and campaigns on stuff. He wasn't one of the showbiz insiders or managers who are implicated.
