Hmm.

The Victorians formulated Association Football to set moral and ethical standards in a society (or a sector of society) that they perceived to be semi-feral - the working classes. It stressed teamwork, hard work, adherence to a set of codified standards, fairness and the rule of the rule. Manly endeavour and working for the common good, look out for your team-mates. And no backchat.

If Mr Lineker (a seemingly articulate and intelligent man) learned his ethics there he did OK.

Unlike a septic example of a rancid profession like LJ.

In some areas, councils subsidise fuel bills of WFH employees. In some other areas, a handful of WFH employees have been caught moonlighting. Extrapolate this, and everyone homeworking is on the fiddle and stealing YOUR money. Some old and vaguely union-bashing examples from the glory days of Fleet Street apparently prove this. As ever, why is it that journalists always equate expenses with being on the fiddle?

Then some shit about jellyfish, and demands about Gary Lineker.

MAC, as ever.

The press officer for Wealden district council you may recall sent Noel Edmonds into a Howard Beale* type meltdown on his consumer champion show Noel’s HQ for telling Edmonds to do one (“we don’t speak to entertainment shows”). As Littlejohn wouldn’t have even bothered to email the council to justify their expense claims, he wouldn’t have been told to fuck off. These claims of waste often turn out to be unspectacular for those of us who know what a divide sign on a calculator looks like.
Wealden Council, in East Sussex, which is run in coalition by the eco-maniacal Lib Dems and Greens, gave staff a staggering £245,644 in 'light and heat payments'.

I thought similar re his (what he must think is clever and subtle) attempt, to align jellyfish and sea slugs with forriners, and asylum seekers in boats

Spot on article. Of course it's a witch hunt. Has been from the beginning. Harmans inquiry proved that. She publicly stated on X she would do everything to make him guilty before it even begun. She should never have been allowed to chair it. Especially as she had broken the law herself ,2 X in the past. He only got a pathetic fine for being given a piece of cake by his wife where he worked and lived. As for the lazy and lefty civil servants ,they did the most rule breaking. Whitehall is vast. Half the time Boris wasn't even there. Definitely a witch hunt and circus. This enquiry helps nobody . Just wasting a lot more taxpayers money.
