I'd wager I've been on more picket lines than he had.

He fought the floor and the floor won.

Hit the road Jack!

At least his lifetime football ban has expired.

He was believed to be the first individual nationwide to be issued a football banning order upon their introduction, serving multiple prison sentences in his youth for football-related disorder.

I believe it is one Harambe, m'lud. A gorilla shot and killed in a zoo a few years back, and who subsequently became a meme: i.e. a moment of some pathos becoming a stretched, contorted cultural commodity.

There's a lot of gangster chic nostalgia for football hooligans, as modern-day Krays or Great Train Robbers. They only hurt their own and some became community activists. For the right community.

Well, at least he died doing what he loved - shinning up a lamp-post to cable-tie onto it a manky nylon flag that nobody asked for in the name of fostering and encouraging race hatred among the simpleton cohort.

It's surely what he would have wanted.

I posted something sarcastic - not especially hurty on a notoriously botty social media.

The greatest bit of "wit and repartee" I received in response was
Oh yeah, what have you ever done to protect women and kids?

I'd add that the worst comments section for "Rest in peece soljur, you is wiv da angles" is not Twitter, Facebook or even the Sun.
It's our shameful sidebarred, Adolph praising, Daily Mail.

Now the flags are decaying and looking grottier by the day would you like to see them removed or stay up as an appropriate metaphor? I suggested the latter on the town FB forum and the local gobshite gammons were uncharacteristically silent about my choice.

Oh, and how the coroner's report was covered on the six o'clock news. Mournful, hushed, and with a tearful farewell befitting Lady Di.

Fact is. A pissed-up thug learned physics the hard way.

May the Darwin Awards field become ever more crowded.
