Badenoch is Gove's protege, he saw an anti-expert common sense kindred spirit.

She's way worse than Gove, who was capable of getting his head down and was apparently surprisingly personable. Kemi does no proper work and can't go 5 minutes without starting a fight.

I hadn't realized that Badenoch and Gove had fallen out so badly. This was quite a thing for Kemi to say about another member of the Cabinet at the time.

In fairness to Kemi, she seems to have backed the friend over her political mentor.

Apparently, after the 3 November, Badenoch loses her 12 month immunity to challenges to her leadership. Jenrick and his supporters are supposedly preparing the requisite letters to the chair of the 1922 committee.

How many letters does it need now - about seven?
