Does anyone believe this shit, ever, beyond the sublime 'natural party of government' conceit?

It's incredible, isn't. The Tories have been in power for 41 of my 62 years and yet Badenock and her party, including ex cabinet ministers, the Reform defectors and lunatics like Truss, take absolutely zero responsibilty for their previous actions. Instead, they claim victimhood and blame "the blob" and 'dark forces of the left'. It's un- fucking believable, Jeff.

Badenough did perform reasonably well on Kuenssberg this morning, I thought. She seemed less spikey and belligerent than she’s been hitherto, and was clearly trying, I thought, to convey earnestness and good ideas (even if the ideas are still mostly shit). Very articulate. She’ll be trying the old Keir Starmer tactic (“The Conservative Party has changed”) before long - mark my words.

Tories have been picking up a few points since Badenoch's starting to attack Reform on their spending plans and untrustworthiness on defence. For the good of the country, I hope that's working. And split the right wing vote more equitably so neither gains many more seats.

How easy is it to listen into “sensitive cables”? Can it be done at all? Do you just plug a microphone into the cable ?

They'll be optical fibres most likely, but I would hope any sensitive information has weapons-grade encryption applied to it first.

Mysteriously these cables weren't there when the Tories initially approved it in 2022.

Well, Jenrick now has nowhere else really to go than to follow through on his " secret plot" and sign on with Farage, Zahawi, Dorries, Dunning-Kruger, Jenkyns, and all the other failed Tory re-treads.

Hasn't it dawned on Farage yet that turning Reform UK into a rehabilitation home for hideous Tory wankers isn't really doing him much good?

The only way it works is if he admits his problem with the Tories is that they didn't go far enough.
