Perhaps that's how you do. it nowadays. Say the Government are the worst people ever and throw out your regular talking points. Don't acknowledge any complexities.

She's no Churchill is she? Not even sure that Boris Johnson as LOTO would be using an international crisis to gain cheap party points.
Thatcher once said every leader needs a Willy (Whitelaw) but the Tories no longer has any wise counselors in grey suits.

IDS flirted with running ahead of Blair on Iraq IIRC, but in the end didn't. Kemi would have blamed Chirac's Non on Britain's diminished status under Labour.
