‘Starmer changes his shirt.’ I’m at a loss as to what this slur is about

Because it's still quite hot in a lot of places, and if you're crammed into public transport or a packed media room (with the cameras and lights adding their own heat), you'll be sweating like a 70s DJ hearing hard knocking on the front door early in the morning.

So rather than be dubbed as "sweaty starmpits" or something by twats, maybe carry some changes of clothing? Or have we got to the stage where two shirts is the surefire giveaway sign of the urban intelligentsia elite?

A black shirt? Clearly pandering to the Daily Mail who are quite the fans of that look.

And your point is, caller?

Let’s just remember that Tony Blair did someting similar before Labour’s landslide victory of 1997, entirely understandably to draw the fangs of the hitherto deadly Murdoch media serpent in order that The Sun et al, would not torpedo Labour’s still uncertain (not over till the votes are counted) passage back to government. Starmer would appear to have learned a lesson from this and is engaged on something similar.

Cue apoplexy from the Trots, etc. But fuck them.

For people obsessed with politics they don't know much about politics.

It's official. Sir Keir doesn't get everything right, but my money was always on him here.

I see that (and you'll be amazed to hear this) civil servants aren't expected to resign their jobs before trying to find a new one.

Hilariously, it seems the government are still going for this. WMA is Written Ministerial Answer. "Prima facie" is as good as saying "we've got nothing, but..."

If there's a winning issue for the government it's "we insist on the highest standard of abiding by rules".
