The BBC don't have to bash Starmer, themselves. Proof here that they can always use sub-contractors.

It's a bit jarring to say "return to negotiations" when these were going on when Trump attacked, but it's a standard diplomatic phrase. The EU has said the same. Doubtless Mike will give them hell too, or would that run too much against "Britain bad American colony, EU much better" narrative?

Oh look. Go and stink out the Green Party instead.
Reminder that this part of the Left think Russia's invasion of Ukraine wasn't "unprovoked". We can not support the US bombing Iran and call out this lot too.

Encouragingly, quite a few people on Bluesky are pushing back against the idea that Starmer "endorsed" the attacks.
The USA had three possible bases to launch their B-2s from, in order of ease for the mission these were: Diego Garcia, the UK and Missouri. The first two would require permission from the UK government, the fact that the Americans used Missouri, the most logistically challenging location, is a strong indicator that Starmer said no.

He's another Edwin. Lost it with Starmer because he won't rejoin the EU last week. So whole of politics is "friendless US poodle" narrative. Even when Starmer's spending more time than anyone with Carney, and traveling round with Macron and Merz on diplomatic missions.

A few papers could learn from this headline. "Neoliberals" or something.

Whether US fighter jets hit nuclear facilities or a toy factory is not of much consequence, Trump's a story teller. If he says the mission is a success, that's what his base will believe. He wouldn’t be the first POTUS indulging in this kind of performative adventurism and won't go down well with sections of his Maga isolationist base.

UK, France and Germany urge Iran 'not to take any further action that could destabilize the region'
The UK, France and Germany have released a joint statement following American strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying that they call upon Iran to engage in negotiations leading to agreement that addresses all concerns associated with its nuclear program.
What does Mike Galsworthy make of this, I wonder?

I found his contributions during the Brexit “debate” quite useful and remarkably sane. How has he progressed down the path to utter cuntitude ?

He seems perpetually enraged that Starmer doesn't do whatever he (Gallbladder) woke up thinking that morning, immediately and in full. This means, of course, that Starmer is a weak loser.
Starmer Derangement Syndrome.

Over on Labour's Future Phil woodford thinks this shows Starmer has a man buffeted by events.
Last week at the G7, Starmer pushed de-escalation and bizarrely claimed Trump was on board, despite the US president’s contrary pronouncements and the stark warnings of other leaders such as Merz.
Now, he has nothing to say apart from effectively endorsing Washington’s demands of Tehran.
While I completely accept there are no easy options for the Labour government here in a world where we need constructive relations with the US, isn’t the overall impression of Starmer one of a man buffeted by events?

Here’s a thing : From an Iranian point of view, wouldn’t it be quite logical to conclude that the best way to stop nuclear-armed powers like Israel and the USA from bombing the shite out of your country would be to continue to work towards acquiring nuclear weapons of your own (if that was indeed what their nuclear enrichment programme was intended to do) ? In other words, the precise opposite of what Trump’s actions were supposedly intended to put a stop to. Escalation, rather than de-escalation.

"Let the record show that when the world stood at the edge of a nuclear disaster, America stepped forward."
- Danny Danon, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations
I'd have proofread that speech one more time if I were you, Mr. Danon.
