As a Nottinghamshire resident, I can testify. The city does have many well-known problems, but many of the boozers and restaurants are excellent. If in doubt, aim for a Castle Rock establishment.

Nottingham's under two hours to drive or train it for me. But for £50 in a Premier Inn which was three stops on a tram from the venue, staying over and getting tanked up was a no brainer.
