Husband in court charged with drugging and raping ex-wife

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdrnvvyy8kzo
Among the 56 charges, Mr Young - who police described as a white British national - is accused of voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images.

Dressed in a pair of dark blue jeans and a black zip-up jumper, he was remanded into custody earlier.

Mr Young served as a Conservative Swindon borough councillor for Covingham and Nythe between 2007 and 2010. The alleged offences are said to have taken place between 2010 and 2023.

I should have posted this under "Oh no, it's one of ours".
Plead guilty to 48 horrific charges.

ITV News At Ten didn't mention his party (can't comment on the BBC as they are showing a Traitors podcast). Paragraph 16 in the local paper.

His party was mentioned on BBC radio news, but, sacré blue, the story hasn't been given anywhere near the due prominence of the broadly comparable Pelicot case.

In other news, I am slowly coming to the firm conclusion that trusting men is a fool's errand on steroids. If I was a woman, I would be a dyke. Thank Christ, my daughter bats for Sappho. Her heart might get broken but not her nose.

Likewise its pointless making party political capital out of these cases as there'll be vile dregs among your ranks just the same.

He's had quite the promotion, so I doubt it. He's very much the way Kemi wants to go. Cutting taxes everywhere, like the public hasn't had enough of stuff falling to bits.

It's stuff they'll never use though, so it doesn't matter.

Bigging up Thatcher is not somehing you do lightly except to show how pathetically tragic the Tories have become

Blast from the past here.
Jenrick sent his Reform UK economy speech to George Osborne seeking his approval
Robert Jenrick, the new Reform UK Treasury spokesperson, sent a copy of his economy speech yesterday to his former Tory colleague, George Osborne, the former chancellor revealed on his Political Currency podcast. He was keen to get Osborne’s approval. And Osborne told him he did agree with the policies in the speech – but not any of Reform UK’s other ones.
It's actually only one policy that Osborne said he agreed with, Reform saying vaguely that they supported the OBR and fiscal responsibility. To Osborne's credit, he said probably didn't support much else.

Party that's definitely not like the Tories tries to get the blessing of.... the ex-Tory chancellor. And though Osborne might be relatively sane, his fiscal policy was a disaster that was propped up by lots of media support. And that's the bit Reform are interested in.

Oh my days :D asking Andrew M-B for a reference would have been marginally more unpopular.

I'm sure we'll find him in the files.

Is "even Tony Blair says something, so it must be right" a particularly winning argument these days? Especially seeing that the Tories say he was wrong about absolutely everything.

I thought we were going ridiculously fast for renewables, according to Coutihno and co. So, by the time the oil and gas comes online, how much of it are we going to be importing exactly?

Contains a video the Boris Johnson 2019 campaign put out in Hindi which is hilariously bad. As is Priti Patel trying to explain why the Greens are bad people for targeting Urdu speakers.
