This went so well the last the Tories chucked out a load of people for opposing a mad policy.
Tory candidates must pledge support for leaving ECHR or stand down, says Jenrick

The way things are going the next election will be fought on who's hardest on human rights.

Or who doesn't propose entirely tearing up relations with the EU and the Northern Ireland settlement. Hard to tell with Jenrick and co whether they believe the Braverman rubbish that we can just rewrite it without other people agreeing to it.

It's barroom philosophy at its finest. I've got this great idea and because nobody else has said it I'm right and they're stupid.

I think Mr. Stewart may be wrong where my constituency is concerned. Hayes is very popular locally and he's a good constituency MP.
Probably true and they will hold those nine seats but the main point is that the Tories are pursuing a strategy to ape a party that isn’t the main threat. Being Reform II won’t help retain the vast bulk of their seats where Lab/LD/nats are second place.

The Lib Dems got a lot of dustbin voters back where they needed them. Will they keep them if they look like forming an anti-Farage front?

The next election will another non aggression pact, tactical voters know what to do without announcing an anti-fascist front.

Robert Jenrick is definitely not a racist.

He’s pulling out every racist trope in the book, isn’t he ? I probably feel safer walking along the Soho Road than anywhere else in Brum. And there’s plenty of white people there and all.
Jenrick is a scummy, lying, racist prick. If Badenoch was any kind of decent leader she’d deal with him the way Ted Heath dealt with Enoch Powell. But don’t hold your breath.

As you say, there's a significant white population in Handsworth. And the others are diverse, different ethnicities and religions. It's not monocultural by any means. What he means is "they all look the same".

I lived in Handsworth when I was studying for my Masters.
Yes, there were occasions when I was the only white person on my floor of the bus.
But d'you know that?
I wasn't bothered by that, because I'm not a racist, or else so closed-minded that I'm intimidated by anyone who doesn't look or sound like me.

Relevant to Jenrick's remarks is the famous psychology experiment on perception in which subjects wear upside down vision glasses or some with different coloured lenses. Takes about three days for an average person to adjust to the new normal. The world then looks weird when the glasses were removed for again about three days.
If you haven’t gone out of a big city for a sometime and then suddenly take a trip to the provinces, the world looks weirdly white even if you grew up there.
Jenrick is addressing people whose experience of urban life is three hours on an annual coach trip to see a musical. ‘They’re everywhere’ ‘they’re taking over,’ ‘Enoch was right.’

Well, as Abers has said - if Badenoch had any nerve she'd throw him out of the shadow cabinet, as per Powell and Heath. You may however wish to draw your own conclusions as to why this hasn't happened.

the hour and a half he spent in Handsworth filming a video about litter
What next, dog poo? Is he an MP or a parish councillor?
And why, I ask rhetorically, does he always head to inner city areas with large ethnic populations for these stunts? Is there no litter in Newark? Is nobody fare dodging at Newark Northgate?

I think we all know the answer.

We saw Sunak do essentially the same thing when he was leader. Remember Frank Hester? The billionaire Tory donor who said that Diane Abbott made him hate all black women and that she should be murdered.
Sunak, another Tory leader "of colour" simply bit his tongue and carried on funnelling the racist cunt’s millions into Tory coffers.
Hypocrites, the lot of them.

Far from not seeing a white face, Jenrick did vox pops with five* of them for his Handsworth video and many others can be seen in the background shots as he's walking around.
*James O'Brien counted them, not me.

Hester is the reason I won't use any of the online stuff my GP surgery tells me to, as it's that piggy-eyed fucker's company that provides it.
