Another MP quits.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdd57e924meo
A second MP has announced he is leaving Your Party, a new left-wing group set up by former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and former Labour MP Zarah Sultana.
In a statement on social media, Iqbal Mohamed did not say why he was leaving but made reference to "false allegations and smears made against me".
The Dewsbury and Batley MP said British politics needed "a genuine, inclusive force for positive change" and expressed the hope that Your Party could fulfil that role.
Your Party has been approached for a comment.
Mohamed's departure comes a week after Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain said he would be "stepping away" from Your Party, citing a "toxic" culture towards "Muslim men".
Sultana announced in July that she was leaving Labour to set up a new party with Corbyn, saying it was time to challenge the "broken" Westminster system.
However since then the group has been mired in factional in-fighting including a row over the handling of £800,000 of donations.

I wonder if he's seen what happened to the other guy. Might be easier to defend his seat against Galloway and co if he's not on the hook for Zarah's social liberalism. Not criticizing Zarah (for once) but seems like she'd have been a better fit in the Greens.

Were these Jeremy Corbyn 'smears?' The press repeating stuff he'd said and done.

Even the Greens have standards...

If she believes in 'from each according to their ability' she won't be contributing much..

Free local buses (or nearly free) is something the left could reasonably aim for in cities. It's been done before, and in some places could make a lot of difference. Free National Rail journeys is just so obviously dumb. You can easily expand buses. Expanding trains when they're already near capacity is very difficult. You'd be lucky to get on after about the third stop.

Zarah returns to take opposing arguments head on. Something about the NHS, capitalism, Luxembourg and tax havens, which people skeptical of free national public transport all support.

An atlas might help Zara to understand how Luxembourg can have free public transport. It's bloody tiny (51 by 35 miles) with a population of less than 700k.

Like I don't agree with some of the stuff Tony Benn said but fucking hell is this what the far left has become?
Used to be titans now its the poverty of ideas.

Yep.
And it's not just that it's small. Is that apart from a couple of very small sections, all the railway lines run to and from the capital city. And more than that, they all run from one station there.

British Rail had something in the 1980s called the Serpell Report, where various options for the future of rail were looked at. Option A was a profitable rail network. It was... a group of railway lines that ran to and from London. Perhaps we could have done that and made it all free? Shame they couldn't all be run from one London terminus really.

I see that known outspoken leftie Michael Rosen has publicly rejected them. That may cause a few ripples:
