So, rail fares not going up is totally the same as rail fares going up.

Right.

You can promise that every day will be the first day of Spring or you can set yourselves as a serious party of government. You can't do both.

In fairness to Zack he's offered clarification on tax policy. Clarification in the sense of waffle that usually starts with "let me be clear".

The logic seems to be that we carry on having underfunded everything while there's inequality. We certainly have more of that than other places, but that's not to say we've just got billionaires and paupers. The vast majority of those people are in between, just like in Denmark. No reason, if you seriously believe think the money you say is needed, that you can't raise tax on most of these people, except starting higher than Denmark does to allow for greater poverty in the UK. That might not be particularly popular in Clifton, Brighton or indeed North Herefordshire. So they're stuck with the wealth tax, and a few other things. Which really isn't that much different to Rachel Reeves. By all means, run on that, but you're going to have your share of "tough choices" too.

Jesus. Does he really not understand inflation, nor know what the Government's rail policy is?
Probably not. I never worked out why they didn't make Chown deputy leader over this clown.

I don't know if Chowns could run for leader and deputy at the same time.

Mothin is joint deputy leader with Rachel Millward, who has local council executive experience. If I hadn't seen Mothin's tweet there, I'd say that was a good combination.

Remember when Glenda Jackson first ran as an MP? strictly no showbiz stuff because the electorate will think you're a frivilous luvvie on an ego trip. Times have changed for the worst. This is pretty good though, maybe trained actor Zack left the LDs after watching how bad Ed Davey is at this stuff.

Tracey Brabin also doesn't muck about.

I quite like this about Zack. I just want him to get his head down and do some proper work as well.

Progressive Zack latest. The Budget raises £26bn. Wealth tax, by optimistic Green estimates, is £14bn, of which most he's already committed to free university.

What's up, too many big houses in Clifton, Brighton etc?

And the heck does "shows who they serve" have to do with raising taxes progressively? On that evidence, they serve the less well off. This stuff is absolute dogshit.

I wonder if after what the OBR man said, Zack will be withdrawing this rubbish about a made up black hole.

I also see that a couple of weeks ago, he was encouraging Zarah Sultana to join the Greens. I expect this was as a result over the Your Party row over trans rights. I respect the Greens' commitment on that issue, but it really shouldn't be that the issue alone is enough for massive cranks to be welcomed with open arms. This is the same thinking as seeing everyone who supports Palestine as a part of your political project.

This is even worse than you expect. He says the economists he listens to are "great economists... brilliant people". They turn out to be Grace Blakeley, Richard Murphy and Gary Stevenson. I only had Murphy on my bingo card.
