I thought he took his boy getting a beating rather well
 Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Viktor Orban, Benjamin Netanyahu, Laura Kuenssberg, your boy took a hellava beating.

It's not even necessary to show the story they're commenting on. It's become like taxi drivers and The Ignorance - answer to everything is send 'em back and string 'em up.

Chuck away the key, I'd pull the lever meself.

Christ on a Bike. Broadcasting House was beyond dreadful this morning.

First up, the editor of GBNews to review the press, another normalisation of the far right, and be allowed to take a pop at Matthew Sayed who is not exactly a pinko but is of Pakistani heritage, so fair game.

Then an OB from a car boot sale with a coterie of thieves and handlers of carcinogenic cosmetics in something called Esshixsh!!11!!, where barely sentient beings were invited to claim that Starmer is a "Whelk". "Refawm all va way", was the final take-away.

I hate these people in equal measure. The broadcaster and those to whom it gives wholly undeserved and toxic airtime.

The second I hear Paddy O'Connell's voice I switch off, regardless of what he's presenting.

People used to complain about Kuenssberg’s naked right-wing bias when she was the BBC ‘s Political Editor, but Chris Mason is far worse even than her.

'Now, we know people like Reform. The real question is: why does any other party even bother?!'

'Given the starting point of all political analysis is "immigration is terrible", what do voters think about immigration?!'

'We've come to Essex to talk to Real People. People in Cheltenham don't count, obviously.'

Like Brexit, where (to his credit) Nick Clegg actually made some effort to speak to people in Blaenau Gwent (?) who weren't the sort of people normally featured in vox pops. How did master sleuth Clegg track them down? He went to a college where there were articulate, outward looking young people.

I had my concerns on Mason when he basically approached Michael Gove like his best mate during the leadership election of Sunak and Truss. Someone so pally with power or who wants to be can't be able to hold it to account.

I was listening to 5Live on the way home. They had three nominally Labour voters on there - one pro-Starmer, one anti- and a now Reform voter. They were all asked their opinions; new Reform made it about immigration. The first two were asked to challenge each other; Reform's views went unanswered. They all summed up. Reform made it about immigration again; unchallenged again. And that's how it works.

It's dead cat stuff. If you ignore it in order not to dignify it with rational discussion it just seeps further into voter consciousness, whereas if you engage you find yourself having to have a debate with a chimp that believes up is down, left is right and good faith is for losers.

The counter to reform's "Unicorns and Rainbows" in Immigration to their competence.

It's a reskin of the Brexit story.
* Only we can fix it.
* We didn't fix it.
* Big boys came along and spoiled it.

That triple has to be established as a meme.

Then you can conduct a meaningful onslaught against the serial incompetent greed of Nigel and his Cronies.
While doing so, slowly dial up the foreign influence subplot.
