The Mail on Sunday has published its court-ordered apology to Meghan Markle on the quietest new day of the year.

Miniscule font on the front page of the paper directs readers to Page 3 to read their full apology for publishing extracts of a letter sent by Meghan to her estranged father.

Mail Online was also ordered to publish an apology on their home page, and it's there, just buried beneath several scrolls worth of other dross.

Mr Barclay said: 'It is important that Government departments lead the way in getting people back to the office, helping our economy get back up to full speed.

So what happened to those Net Zero targets, or is "every desk should be filled" more important? Or is Whitehall really filled with slackers who have to be kept under constant observation?

That one again. I wonder how many motorists ever pick up a copy of The Highway Code after they've passed their driving test? Strangely, I've always given way to pedestrians waiting to cross the road at junctions...

The Times were at this too.

It's actually quite dangerous. The Highway Code is a serious thing, and many people are fuckwitted enough on the roads and don't need any more windmills to point their deathly sense of futility at. Lying - not joking, not playing - lying about road rules and divide and rule vis road users is actually pretty fucking scummy.

I find it a bit distasteful, that "warning new rules will lead to spike in road rage incidents" bit.

If you set off flares in an Alpine valley, you risk causing an avalanche. That's direct cause and effect. New rules = greater incidence of road rage is not.

It's basically pre-emptively excusing people who assault others. Well, what did you expect? These new rules are just so frustrating, I had to punch a cyclist out. It's my reaction to everything. Every time a TV programme overruns or gets cancelled I put my boot through the TV and slap the nearest family member. I can't help it, it's in my nature.

New rules will not lead to a spike in assaults. Dickheads getting frustrated and losing their tempers will.
