Have the Tories removed secondary voting from London mayoral elections?

Anyone who believes Susan Hall or Jezza are fit to be executive metropolitan mayors are not serious people. A ceremonial mayor of Shit Town compete with hat and bling, maybe.

It's now FPTP by government fiat.

I think it's very unlikely Corbyn will run, because he'll be 76 and there's nowhere near that sized base v Sadiq.

Could the notoriously fragile Corbyn ego stand the humiliation of coming 4th or 5th?

An interesting little thought exercise is to imagine (and yes this does call for a large measure of the willing suspension of disbelief) that everything in the Labour Party is the same :the party structures, the policies, even the sustained 25 point opinion poll lead. Except for one thing - the leader of the party is Jeremy Corbyn, not Keir Starmer. How long would it take for everything to revert to a tits-up situation ?

I don't even think many of his fans see him as an executive politician. People like him don't tend get selected for governorships and city mayoralties in the US. He's a broadbrush campaigner.

How has a Labour Party member who has "not ruled out" standing against the Labour Party not been expelled?

I don’t think he can be chucked out for not ruling it out. I’ve not ruled out a night of passionate nookie with Ashley Jensen, but it’s never going to happen (damnit).

That's not what Ashley told me.
Seriously though, if you can't bring yourself to say that you want the Labour Candidate to win, you've really no place in the Party.
And yes I know that's just my opinion which is not the same as the rule book.

You're right, of course. Trouble is, there are no solid grounds for getting shot of the bastard until he actually does something.

He's right. Amongst the pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel, antisemitic demographic he's a god.

There just aren't, thankfully, too many of them, I don't think, but there is a massive elephant in the room which no-one acknowledges.

They still haven't learned from 2019 and how they allowed an issue that wasn't in the top 100 most important to the electorate become a vote-winner for the Tories. To them everything comes back to Palestine. It's an obsession.

And elephant.

Key to a section of the Muslim vote, which they want.

They’re all in the same hall, today

I reckon that's about 100 people in that photo and I'm assuming the photographer has chosen their angle carefully to crop out the empty rows behind.
According to Conway Hall's website, that room has a total capacity of 400, including the balcony which we can see is empty.

Starmer's toast.
