If he still has a mortgage on a house in Stoke after an MP's salary he lacks Thatcherite ethic of prudent housekeeping.

I suspect Stoke is like South Wales. You don't have to get very far out of the bit with terraced houses for 60 grand before it gets much less cheap.

Well he was never the sort of Tory who would have been offered a “consultancy”, or a “directorship”

I think that railing against schools being 'woke' might put him well down the list of attractive candidates, especially as he purports to teach RE, plus he's a blatantly useless cunt who has been publicly hated by his ex-pupils.

I once had the 'honour' of supervising the 'worst teacher in England' (vide Daily Mail). I would have that twat back rather than have anything to do with the Gullet.

I am rather unashamedly delighted to hear this (totally unsurprising) news. Gullis is a worthless piece of shite.

Has he tried getting a job at the school run by the Tories favourite headmistress, Birbalsingh?

Also maybe a change to thread title as he thankfully is no longer an MP?

Hopefully we won't need the thread, as he'll fade into obscurity at a rapid rate

And just maybe he's realising that this is how the tory establishment have always treated the help.

I'm surprised he's not been snapped up by Katharine Birbalsingh. He would make an excellent deputy.

It is strange, though. It's (just about) commutable to Manchester and Birmingham, got good transport links and there's some spectacular scenery not far away. You'd think houses there would be in demand,.

Ninety minutes to Euston, a few Guardian lifestyle articles and you could see Stoke swamped by hipster downsizers. Gullis would love that.

Jonathan Gullis has finally got a job .

https://archive.is/20250514120041/https ... ets-a-job/
Gullis is back – joining the Centre for Social Justice, the right wing think tank founded by Iain Duncan Smith, as a senior fellow. Gullis will be “leading the think tank’s research into connecting the education system with the world of work”.

I'll make a prediction.

His solution will be apprenticeships teaching real skills, and an end to degrees in Harry Potter.

His connection to the world of education has always been tenuous (and shows no signs whatever of knowledge, research or understanding).
So expect bollocks, hire monkeys get gibberish. But the Telegraph and Mail will lap up any reactionary arse gravy that he may deliver - if he ever delivers anything at all.
