One thing I have noticed is that on what Littlejohn no doubt calls Soshul Meeja, farmers are nowhere near as popular as they think they are.

Saw Farage on the demo in his wellies telling us how these lefty townies don't understand the country ways of rural folk like him. The south London educated stockbroker's son has more cosplay outfits than Margo from the Good Life. And just as phoney.

The sheer absurdity of a man who is the MP for a coastal town putting on a waxed jacket, flat cap, wellies and tweed to go to the biggest city in the country.

Imagine the collective right-wing freak out if a Labour MP turned up to a protest in a Castro t-shirt, beret, keffiyeh and sandals with CND badges on their donkey jacket. And now explain why this nicotine-stained clown is doing anything any different. Even fucking Clarkson doesn’t dress like toad of toad hall and he actually owns a bloody farm*.

Only a very small number of people have to pay inheritance tax. A more honest slogan would be "End Inheritance Tax For the Rich".

Also, the creative sector isn't just millionaire actors and pop stars. It's....well, if anyone needs it explained to them, let me know.

Farming and film making both enjoy various investment grants and tax exemption perks for sound non market orientated reasons. Haven't heard Chris Nolan or Mike Leigh moan about having to pay IHT like everyone else.

One of the few things George Osborne got right was the film industry. Every time you see a scene in the latest Marvel blockbuster set somewhere in London or Glasgow (and looking like it), or the Millennium Falcon taking off from Warwickshire, that's soft power right there.

I did notice central Glasgow doing a passable job of standing in for New York City in the last Indiana Jones fillum.
