There's still the best part of two months until Trump's inaugaration day. There's a strong possibility that Trump will have dumped Musk before then. If not, it won't be long after.

He'll need Muskie to put out on X that it was the largest crowd ever for an inauguration...............then they will fall out

One of the main reasons that Trump has won two elections is that people see him as a successful businessman, Farage on the other hand doesn't have any kind of track record as a successful track record in business.

Reform did well at the last election because the media gave them an easy ride because Reform were never likely to win the election or even come second. As soon as Reform start looking like a government they will receive a lot more scrutiny than they got in the 2024 election. They will have to properly cost their policies and explain what taxes will have to rise to pay for their policies.

Bit of a way to go yet then, assuming the no. 1 concern of the general public *isn’t* “left-wing milk”

It's getting beyond parody. There's no point trying to counter it, because they love the narrative. Anything a bit skilful, considerate, optional, requiring a touch of empathy or engagement or just thinking for a moment, anything requiring you to make a choice, anything that even suggests that there's options other than "here's the shit I like, now everyone have it and be grateful" - it's all in their line of sight.

And you know, it's just so fucking lazy. It's nothing even to aspire to. It's shit served up on gold plates, like a fucking chimp's tea party.

I see this morning that "Dame" Andrea Jenkyns, the shit-for-brains former Tory MP and junior minister ousted on 4 July, has now signed up for the nicotine-stained man-frog's current vanity project, as we all knew that she inevitably would.
Her decision to join the party comes as a surprise after she engaged in a bitter public row with Reform UK earlier this year, after claiming she was wooed by a pro-Brexit businessman who she said had offered her jobs to defect.

She was bitterly critical of Reform in July after an attack by the party’s deputy leader, Richard Tice, who had accused her of bribing her Reform general election rival in the constituency of Leeds South West and Morley.

On that occasion, Jenkyns insisted she never came close to defecting to Reform and described Tice’s “wild accusations” as “libellous” and an attempt to “deflect from his own embarrassing behaviour”.

FFS.

I'm surprised he hasn't jumped on the anti-fart feed additive bandwagon, yet. Or maybe this is a precursor...

I assume in Jenkins’ case, the sudden change of heart was very much related to the addition of an extra 0 on a cheque or similar…

A few weeks ago the Mail ran a serious story about woke sandwich fillings. Nothing is too ridiculous to feed (no pun intended) the modern right's pathetic, whiny, self- pitying need for victimhood.

She's got a decent chance of winning the Lincolnshire mayoralty, sadly.

In fairness, newspapers don't have much money. They can't afford to send reporters abroad to cover the big stories, and everyone gets their updates on those off broadcast/online media anyway. What they can afford is to send a workie down to the sandwich store and knock out an article designed to wind up some grumpy old bastards.

But a slim chance of understanding anything in the job.

When it comes to Lincolnshire, I've gone from salutary tale of buyer's remorse and be careful what you wish for; to "Face it, you're not really here for the hunting, are you?".

Conservative Home founder Tim Montgomerie has also defected to Reform. A few days ago Abers and I were speculating that he looks like he's suffered a stroke, turns out we were wrong, he's clearly been kicked in the head by a horse.

Also today : the (relatively) high-profile Conservative media commentator, Tim Montgomerie, has announced that the Tories are not quite cunty enough (?) for him any more, despite Bad Enoch’s best efforts, and has jumped ship to join the man-frog’s bandwagon.

Something to do with failures on immigration and erm, family values, or some such bollocks.

Ah, well. In other news, a hedgehog successfully crossed a B road earlier today.

According to 30p Lee and Andrea Jenkyns, the going rate for Reform to buy a Tory is £80,000. With £79 million from Musk, Farage could buy all 121 Conservative MPs and pocket the £69 million change.

I wonder what Tim Montgomerie cost him?

Being the editor/founder/whatever of Conservative Home must have helped him read the tea-leaves.

That hardcore nutter faction will take a white spiv over a Nigerian-stock woman, any day of the week.

Perhaps he can start Reform Home, or Borstal, as it was once known.
