Trump's national security adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy to leave posts in White House - reports
Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy, Alex Wong, will be leaving their posts, CBS News reports citing multiple sources familiar with the matter. They are expected to leave on Thursday.

Waltz has been under intense scrutiny over the Signal group chat scandal. Infamously, Waltz put together a Signal chat – and mistakenly included the editor of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg - disclosing sensitive discussions with top national security officials about plans for a military strike on Houthi targets in Yemen. The information shared included the timing of the strikes and the weapons packages used.
Was it the last Waltz, or was it drunk Pete?

Not a man to take no for an answer. Fortunately, Mexico has a lot of friends with defence forces in the region and Trump has none apart from that lunatic in El Salvador.

Not the dictator of a banana republic

The White House has confirmed a military parade will be held to mark the US Army's 250th anniversary on 14 June, which falls on the same day as President Donald Trump's birthday.

A "day-long festival" will be held on the National Mall in Washington DC, an army spokesperson said, adding that the event would feature 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles and 50 aircraft...

What is this fucking obsession with eggs?

I also eagerly await him posting AI-generated images of him as other religious/spiritual figures.

Assuming the RoW reciprocates this 100% tariff and is a bigger market than the US, what does Trump believe will be the net effect for international movie making? Hollywood studios just become investment companies for foreign based and registered film production companies.
It maybe helpful for films currently made abroad that only Americans watch but what the heck are they, Biblical epics made in Israel?

Does that affect movies coming in on streaming channels?

Movies made in America like:

The Big Red One (mostly on location in Italy)
Kelly's Heroes (Jugoslavia)
The Da Vinci Code (UK and Italy)
The Train (France)
Kangaroo Jack (Australia)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (Germany, Italy and Jordan)
Star Wars episode IV (UK and Tunisia)

Just a few examples of why the orange toddler is talking through his arse, again.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy was made in New Zealand and Titanic was made in Mexico.

I wonder if Don knows where the term "Spaghetti Western" comes from?

I'm confused, I thought Hollywood was failing because it was woke, not because of unfair competition.

He actually made an even more insane announcement.
The US president said Alcatraz, which is on an island off the coast of San Francisco, needed to be “substantially enlarged and rebuilt” to house “America’s most ruthless and violent Offenders”.
Alcatraz Island was developed into a national park and tourist attraction by notorious liberal leftist, Richard Nixon.

Mind boggling, will there be a tax paid everytime a Vancouver made TV series is shown?

What Trump doesn't grasp or doesn't want his supportors to, is that the country that most gains from outsourcing media production from California or car making from Michigan has been America. Usually cheaper Red states.

There is a massive talent pool here in the UK and many studio/sound stage complexes are built by insurance companies and then leased out - that in turn could have a knock-on effect to private pensions here.

The movie industry sounds a risky business for insurance and pension actuaries to be involved in. I'm guessing they're hugely tax efficient investments.

I woke this morning with fears for the future of my kid and his missus. They are utterly joyful drapers and upholsterers to pretty big name productions, and I would hate it (again) if the kid had to return to the misery of investment banking.

Hugely tax efficient is one way of putting it. Did you ever see this Storyville about a film that didn't exist apart from as a vehicle to claim tax incentives?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06yrf2t

The cast were not in on the scam. Including Andrea McLean from Loose Women who was rather eccentrically cast in the lead role. The scammers did belatedly try to put a film together, in an attempt to prove their innocence, but they were send down for fraud.
