You may have read this story which has even forced Badenoch to concede that this Brexit red tape nonsense has to end.
The UK’s leading berry farmer has told LBC he has been forced to let hundreds of tonnes of strawberries rot in fields because of Brexit red tape - and warned UK shoppers should expect shortages and soaring food prices. https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/uk/the-farme ... 4qkRAAVIvg

But the hugely experienced fruit farmer doesn't have the collective wisdom online gammons. They have a solution, guess what it is?
I grow my own iam sure he could have got a pick your own strawberry sign out side his farm to get rid of some.

Go old school and let people come and pick their strawberries. I remember doing it as a kid with my mum.

300 tonnes? Let's assume that every visitor to this PYO farm buys a kilo of strawberries, and they price in another 500g ending up in bellies as the kids go round, carrying out a little quality control.

They'd only need 200,000 familes. How long is strawberry season? Could they accommodate 10,000 carloads a day?

Apparently nearly 70 and not an eleven year old.
Tourist's 'nightmare' as Corfu hotel 'had no English food' and not enough chips

"There was no bacon. For breakfast there was mozzarella and sliced tomatoes. There was no hot bacon or sausage. We got chips one day. One day out of the whole lot.
"There was fish, sardines and rice - I was sick to death of looking at rice. There was pasta and salads, none of this was marked (labelled). One night there was a Greek night and they had kebabs, I couldn't eat that. It's the worst holiday I've ever been on." Susan was also shocked by the drinks on offer, with wine, lager, ouzo, or brandy on the menu.
Usually, she explained, she would have a bottled lager or Bacardi and Coke, which she claimed would have cost €9 (£7.60) and come from a different brand. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/t ... d-35327009

TUI offered Susan £100 in holiday vouchers, with a spokesperson saying they were "sorry to hear" about her experience. They said: "Our priority is to ensure customers have the best possible holiday experience, so we are sorry to hear that Mrs Edwards felt dissatisfied with her holiday. We have been in touch directly with Mrs Edwards to come to a resolution."
You'll only encourage them...

The article does mention she has ulcerative colitis - maybe this seriously restricts the food she can eat.

I'd expect somebody with serious food restrictions to do a bit more advance checking prior to booking.

I seriously doubt that it means you can survive solely on a diet of bacon, sausage and chips and drink only lager served in a bottle.
How apt that she's a Geordie, she sounds like she stepped out of the pages of Viz.

It’s someone totally different.

Of course her condition is probably worsened by her current diet.

Calm doon, bonnie lad, the reason I pointed out she's a Geordie is because Newcastle is the home of Viz - not because I think she's representative of the Toon.
I've had several nights out in Newcastle and I've eaten many kebabs there, in fact I believe the only occasion I've had a proper restaurant meal on Tyneside was at a Greek Taverna in Gateshead.

Susan claimed that, by the time all of her payments had gone through, she could have paid for a trip to the Caribbean instead. She said: "By the time we paid £750 for the holiday, €70 (£59.12) tourist tax for me and my daughter and an extra £450 for both of our meals, I could have been to the Caribbean on that."
The Caribbean, famous for its lack of rice dishes.

Eeh, the dorty bastads. Eating goats and those weird bananas.
