Who could have guessed that racist scumbags aren't particularly nice people?

Reform UK has suspended a Kent county councillor over what it calls an "unofficial complaint" from several female members of staff.

Robert Ford was elected to represent Maidstone Rural West in May's local elections and will now sit as an independent until investigations into the allegations are complete.

Speaking to the BBC, Ford said: "It is a surprise to hear that any female members of staff have made a complaint."

A statement from Reform UK said: "Despite being offered a meeting with the whip to discuss the complaints, councillor Ford has refused to engage with the process."...

Of course, he's absolutely perfect and would never behave inappropriately

Ford said he would be "looking to take legal action against those complaining", adding: "They are a slur on my character."

Bitter divisions in Reform UK’s flagship county council have been laid bare in a leaked video of a chaotic internal meeting where members were told to “fucking suck it up” if they did not agree with decisions.

Councillors can be seen complaining about “backbiting” and being ignored by their leader, Linden Kemkaran, who tells them they will be “screwed” and that Reform can forget about winning the general election if they don’t balance Kent’s budget.

In an extraordinary recording, which shows the inner workings of Reform’s Kent operation, Kemkaran shouts down fellow members before telling them they will be “muted” in scenes reminiscent of the viral “Jackie Weaver” video from a parish council Zoom meeting in 2021.

I saw a post on X earlier from Zia Yusuf who claimed that under Reform's Deportation Bill judges would have no powers to halt deportations. I'm guessing such draconian legislation might just struggle to get through the House of Lords.

Then ceate hundreds of new lords loyal to the dear leader. The UK's checks and balances rely on good chaps and aren't as embedded as most Western democracies. You can be sure Reform get that.

The Mail are trying to play down the Kent County Council as the new 'Jackie Weaver' moment but there is clearly a very big difference. The Jackie Weaver meeting involved an insignificant parish councils which had very limited powers. Kent County Council has a direct impact on the lives of 1.6 million people, dealing with education, social care, policing and the highways.

However...

Support for Reform UK among British Indians has tripled since the election, according to polling from a diaspora group that suggests Nigel Farage’s party is gaining ground in some demographics where it has struggled.

Research by the 1928 Institute, a group of Oxford academics who analyse the British Indian community, shows backing for Reform has jumped in the past year from 4% to 13%.

The findings, which are being released to coincide with Diwali, show support for Farage’s party among Britain’s largest minority ethnic community remains well below the national level. But the increase since the election is far higher than the national average, showing Reform is building momentum in communities where it has traditionally struggled.

Not a surprise really. No deep loyalty to the Tories, and heading right generally.

Reform have suspended 4. It says something about how mad Kent is that they still have a majority of 12.

I wonder if they really wanted these majorities. Unfortunately, I think that their media pals will successfully shield them from much electoral comeback.
