I see that Lloyd Russell-Moyle (former) MP has gone to the Green Party.

He wasn't treated very well in fairness.

I do remember he tried to encourage the teaching of choking in schools.

Did you not have auto-erotic asphyxiation as an elective at your school?

We must have done at mine, as I remember one pupil dying from it. This'd be about 1980.

I see. 'Please don't do this or play on railtracks and pylons, kids' might be a better message.

Postcards from the edge;

If you turn up to a dinner party hosted by a friend's new squeeze in Chiswick, and the story du jour concerns a tory, a bottle of poppers, an orange, various items of lingerie, and a ligature, don't mention it.

Believe me. It's really not worth it.

This is astonishing even from a serial gobshite.

Water bills are going up.... to fix exactly what you want fixed, after a long period when Ofwat (with the connivance of governments) kept the bills relatively low. They don't get fixed for free just because you nationalize it. The "no matter how you regulate it" is embarrassing stuff.

Yep, and in Cambridgeshire. Neither of these are all that far from Clive.

Tulip Siddiq seems to have been penalised for having an auntie that was the Prime Minister of Bangla Desh.

What exactly is she supposed to have done? I've heard a few reports of her conviction and I'm still none the wiser.

From a thread rubbishing Richard Murphy bullshit by an economics professor, who warns Polanski to avoid it. An ex-Labour MP (Campaign Group) shows up, fires off her talking points, and then goes quiet when the professor provides a detailed response.

Lynne did get back to the discussion. It's pure Zack, throw out memes stuff. Nobody had said the economy was like a household, and taxing the super rich was irrelevant to the point being made about the nature of money.

Lynne was always a bit bonkers (she used to be my MP). She finally quit the Labour Party over the Gaza issue last year I think. So she is full time in Wales now, is she ? And has joined the Greens. Looks like she has gone full Tonto.

There’s a little of the hypocrite about her, too, of course - like most of the Campaign Group tribe. She was first elected in 1992, and was one of those MPs that took full advantage of the MPs accommodation rules at the time to buy a flat in Kennington on an interest-only mortgage , the payments on which were met by the fees office. When the time came to sell the flat for a sum many times greater than she had acquired it for in 1992, she had in effect made a substantial personal capital gain at the taxpayer’s expense. I think she used the proceeds to purchase a pied a terre in the Spanish Pyrenees.

And supported Respect rather than her own party when she stood down in 2010.

Jones doesn't strike me as bonkers, just as someone who can't argue properly and just fires out memes, which isn't something that I associate with the Socialist Campaign Group, whatever their faults.
