Yeah, I agree with that, pretty tactless, as was the protest straight after the actual terrorist attack on Jews in England.
I also think that Shabana Mahmood has a point about the frequency of the demos. Would Owen Jones, Jez and co have the same outrage if demos were going on all the time v "Islamic Extremism"- there's not exactly a shortage of that across the world. Muslims in Britain would be well within their rights to feel uncomfortable about that, just as I think Jews are within their rights to be uncomfortable about the Palestine demos. As Nadine Batchelor-Hunt has said, there have been regular anti-semitic elements tolerated. It's one thing to say "We don't mean you, we mean Israel, and anyway here are some Jews who are marching", but it's not always as self-contained as that, is it? I doubt Jez would accept "We don't mean you regular Muslims, we mean just mean people like the Iranian Mullahs, and here are some ex-Muslims who are protesting".
None of this means I accept Badenoch's characterization of the marches as "festivals of hate", because very obviously they aren't overall. But I don't see Mahmood's suggestion as beyond the pale or "pro-genocide" or anything else.
