They don't care, they don't care, they don't care.

I don't know what the non-insane side of the US is doing about this, but it better be fucking clever.

Kids with tough paper rounds - as we say in these parts.

Let's tell it like it is.
Whether Jenrick's tories over here, or the Cartman-Geobbels axis over there.
Our former constitutional "centre right" are now in thrall to 1930s autocracy.

Lots of them are doing stuff, but it doesn't always look like it because the US doesn't really have an "Opposition" in the way we do. Trump was unusual being able to do that from 2020-24, and even lots of Republicans thought that was less than ideal till near the election. The nearest they have to LOTO is the House and Senate Minority Leaders who are fairly underwhelming in themselves, but even they have got the Republicans where they want them on the Budget, with no obvious way out. They can break the filibuster and pass the budget, but the question will then be why they didn't do that before, and even then the Budget will have lots of unpopular stuff in it.

Otherwise, it's mostly people in states doing what they think works best for them in their states, and beyond (where they have a national profile, which is fairly rare). Of those who do, JB Pritzker, the Governor of Illinois and Tim Waltz, the Governor of Minnesota, are good, hard hitting politicians who might do a job in 2028.

Another one of Trump's "good people"

A man pardoned by US President Donald Trump for his role in the 2021 Capitol riot has been charged with threatening to kill the top Democrat in the House of Representatives.

Christopher Moynihan, 34, was arrested in the town of Clinton, New York, for making a terroristic threat to kill a member of Congress, New York State Police said. He has pleaded not guilty.

Moynihan allegedly planned to target House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries during a speech to the Economic Club of New York scheduled for this week, according to court filings obtained by the BBC's US partner CBS News...
